So you´ve successfully conquered the Panam and reached the southernmost tip of the continent? Wether you started your adventure in Alaska, in Colombia, in Buenos Aires or Santiago. Either way you will probably ask yourself: Now what?

Driving the same way that you just came from, just to drop off or sell your bike in Santiago, is something that probably doesn´t appeal too much to many of us. Fear not! In that case there is an interesting alternative that I used during my trip to Patagonia in December 2023 and that I would like to share.

In Punta Arenas there is a company called Transportes Conosur that puts your motorcycle on a truck and sends it to Santiago de Chile. Even the connection to a container shipping in Port San Antonio is an option. It is advisable to contact them beforehand to verify price and availability of the service. In 2023 the cost was 180.000 CLP. When the time comes you drop off your bike at:

You sign a couple of papers, pay the total, take some pictures and off you go. In total the process doesn´t take much longer than 30 minutes. Luggage can remain on the bike but it is not recommended to leave valuables. After one week the bike arrives in:

The pick-up process is even smoother.

In my opinion this is a great option to save time and money or just to avoid riding the nasty Argentinian cross winds once more.
